Question USB sound card humming

Hi,

I've got issue with any external usb sound card I use. I've got my headphones connected to the card (Sound Blaster Play 2 at the moment), and whenever I'm about to play anything, I start hearing humming in the headphones. When I stop playing any sound, the humming stops after a while. This happens on all headphones I've checked and on 2 different USB cards. When pluged-in directly into mobo's internal sound card there is no issue but the volume is too low. What causes this? How to fix this?

Make and model of your headphone(s)? You mention having two sound cards, one external(USB) and one internal(motherboard), why are you in need of an USB driven sound card? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the audio drivers? Are you on the latest BIOS update for your motherboard?
