Sorry if this is the wrong subforum. I couldn't figure out where best to post my USB question.
How can I tell if my USB supports 3.0 speeds, and do I need to configure anything to get 3.0 speeds and/or the fastest USB speeds possible?
I downloaded HWINFO to view my system specs.
My USB hub is labeled Intel(R) USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.10 (Microsoft).
Port 6 is currently connected to my mouse. HWINFO reports the following:
Device Manufacturer: Chicony Electronics
Product Name: Chicony Electronics Realtek DMFT - RGB
Serial Number: -
USB Version Supported: 2.01
USB Device Speed: USB 2.0 High-speed
Driver Description: USB Composite Device
Hardware ID: USB\VID_04F2&PID_B604
Driver Information
Driver Manufacturer: (Standard USB Host Controller)
Driver Description: USB Composite Device
Driver Provider: Microsoft
Driver Version: 10.0.18362.1110
Driver Date: 20-Jun-2006
DeviceInstanceId USB\VID_04F2&PID_B604\0001
Location Paths PCIROOT(0)#PCI(1400)#USBROOT(0)#USB(6)
Does this mean that my USB port only supports 2.0 speeds or does this mean that my mouse is the limiting factor on USB speed and the actual USB port can support 3.0 speeds if a USB 3.0 device is plugged in?
Thank you.
