My friend gave me his 64GB USB stick to format, however whenever I try and format it, Windows says that the disk is write protected. I've tried the regedit method and the diskpart method also to no luck. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for your suggestion:
1. I tried editing the registry, same issue
2. When I use disk part:
- The clean command throws up "DiskPart has encountered an error: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. See the System Event Log for more information.
- The format command says there was a disk service error: the media is write protected.
Any more ideas?
