USB stick wont install!!

my Maxell 2GB usb has randomly stopped working, i plugged it in the other day and it just wont install and work, also tried it in another pc too

any suggestions? i have service pack 1, my friend said i should update to service pack 2 or 3?

no sp2, sorry.

try using device manager, in case it accidentally got disabled. start, right click computer, click manage, click device manager, and find it under disk drives. if it shows and is enabled, roll back the driver
