USB Stuck with Write Protection

I was doing a system backup onto my PNY Attache 64gb thumb drive when the backup failed and stuck 50gbs of junk on my drive. I tried to delete the files to restart but it was all of a sudden write protected and now the files are stuck. I've tried everything:

First, there is no Write Protection switch on the drive itself.
I made sure the Sharing options allowed full control (for the drive and C: drive)
I tried removing the Read Only designation from the individual files
I tried reformatting from the thumb drive, my computer and through command prompts
I tried removing the readonly status through command promp's disk list
I tried the regedit StorageDevicePolicies (my computer didn't have this folder but I added it with the WriteProtect DWORD set to 0)
I did a Malwarebytes and Norton virus scan
I tried downloading the Windows 7 USB hotfix but none of them were applicable to my system after trying to install them

So far, no change, no improvement. Either nothing happens or I get the write protection error.

Any further suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

If you can still copy files from it, copy the important files over to your PC. Then proceed with a full format. The formatting should remove write protection.

I doubt this is the case, but there may also be a switch on your USB.
