USB Tethering broken

Whenever i try to USB tether from my mobile my computer doesnt let me click anything or open any new windows but as soon as i turn it off everything goes back to normal.
i have an i5 6500 8 gb ram 120 ssd. Any help would be appreciated

Did you go into the configuration settings and check the USB tethering icon?

Verify that the tethering configuration settings are correct.

If no mis-configuration is found then more information is needed:

"doesnt let me click" - meaning that the mouse does not work?

Then you unplug the tether and the mouse does work.
