USB to wireless

I'm looking for something that I could plug a USB headset into then broadcast the signal to a dongle on my PC. It wouldn't need to be bluetooth but would need to send the power to the headset. There are plenty of wireless headsets out there and the power is supplied via batteries. I'm just looking for a "hub" that would supply power to the unit through the USB cable, the same way the PC does, receive the signal and then broadcast the signal to a dongle plugged into a existing USB port on the PC.

It seems like a fairly "easy" piece of hardware but I cannot find anything out there.

:??:
Confused here.
Wireless, but also power?

If it needs to be connected via USB for power, then why not also transmit the audio over the USB?

Not not that. Say you have a mouse and your tower is in an awkward place that your mouse cable can't reach. What I'm looking for is a device that I could plug the USB from the mouse into and transmit the signal, (wireless), to the tower. Since the mouse needs power and would normally get that power from the tower through the USB cable the device would have to supply the power to the mouse through the cable.

No....wireless mice (i have one), have a battery. Mice batteries can last weeks or months without change or recharge.
It transmits the mouse signals via bluetooth or RF dongle. Depending on the specific mouse, range from 3 feet to 30 feet or more.

A headset is a whole different thing.

I realize that a wireless unit needs batteries. A USB headset doesn't but is supplied it's power from the PC. The "device" itself would be the wireless transmitter and would get it's power from a wall socket and also send power to the headset through the cable.

I remain confused.
You're looking for a headset that gets its power via USB cable, and gets the audio signal via wireless of some sort?
Is my supposition correct?

lol, No. Maybe what's causing the confusion here is that I'm talking about a headset with a microphone. Therefore it would send and receive siganls The headset would not be wireless at all, it would function as a normal USB headset. Basically the "device" would be doing all of the wireless work. The headset would send a signal from the mic through the cable to the device. The device would take that signal, convert to a wireless signal and transmit it to the PC. The PC would take the audio signal and send it wireless to the device which would then convert it and send it through the USB to the headset where it could be heard. Sorry I didn't clarify that the headset also had a mic.

Sure. A garden variety wireless headset, like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Smartphones-Bluetooth-Headphones/dp/B005GTNZUM

(it has a battery in it. 6 hour run time)

But what you seem to be looking for is exactly that, but with the transmitter on a USB cable? And there is still no physical connection between the PC and the headset?

I think i did get what you were saying. You want to make wired headset wireless and that's why you need that "dongle" to transfer both the signal and power between PC, right?
The thing with headsets is that they need power to operate. While wireless headsets have internal battery for supplying the needed power, the wired headsets take the power through the USB cable. There is no technology on earth that can transfer electrical power through thin air.

The closest you can get is to use wireless USB hub, like this one,

While plugging the smaller dongle to the PC and connecting your wired headset to the hub. This solution only works when the hub supplies power to the USB ports.
