USB triggered image aquisition

Hi all

New to this group so apologies if this has been asked before. I have a Sony
DSC P93 and I would like to know if it is possible to, via the USB port,
programatically trigger an single frame image aquisition?
I suppose the question is really, does there exist an activeX/dll that would
permit programatic access to the camera functionality?

Such a beast must exist, but I am hoping it occurs outside the walls of Sony
corp.

It depends on the camera. Google for your camera model and the word
'remote'
