I am planing to purchase new monitor. But I am confused because I did not understand USB Type C properly.

is monitor required a extra power? if i connect with usb type c to my desktop (usb type c)

Small-screen portable monitors usually draw their power via USB-C so only the one cable is required. Regular, larger monitors still require mains power.

But USB Type C support up to 100w power. Is it ok for 24 inch monitor.

Yes, in principle it can, but I think you may struggle to find a 24" monitor that doesn't need a separate power supply.

Have a look at the specifications for your chosen monitor. If it says something like "Input 110-240V" then it will require a connection to mains power.
