USB type C to DVI-D 144hz

Solution
Unless it's $100+, it's almost certainly a Single-Link DVI adapter which will be capped to 60 Hz at 1080p. Basically you need a new monitor, one with DisplayPort or one that supports 144 Hz over HDMI. There's pretty much no way to get 144 Hz on the XL2411Z without an actual DVI port or a $100 DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI converter, which is why I don't recommend it. You can try a USB-C to DP adapter with a DP to DL-DVI converter attached to it but it's unlikely to work and will cost more than half of what it would take to just get a new monitor.
