USB WI-FI adapter won't connect to wireless networks

I recently bought a TP-Link TL-WN822N Wireless network adapter to plug into my desktop, since I moved it away from the router. I go to install the drivers for it, and they install correctly, but when I go into the setup utility, it doesn't let me switch from the ethernet port to the USB network adapter.
Any ideas on how I can get this to work?
