USB wifi antenna for Laptop

Hello! I'm wondering if buying a USB antenna would be worth it for me or not.
I'm currently in tech school for the AF and the internet situation is not exactly ideal.

According to my laptop I get decent signal, 4-5 bars, but I'm wondering if an even stronger signal would help. The laptop I'm using is this; https://www.asus.com/us/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-G751JT/specifications/

The onboard NIC; Integrated 802.11a/b/g/n/ac
Built-in Bluetooth™ V4.0
10/100/1000/Gigabits Base T

If I were to buy something like this, would it be an upgrade in signal strength? The internet we have is only supposed to be 30mbs down, but I usually get around 15 using my onboard wifi. So I'm not too worried about maximum speed of the USB antenna as long as I can reach out and grab the full amount I'm supposed to get, if that's how it works.

I'm interested in the following...

(another usb antenna, smaller)

Are these worth the money? How do the above compare to what's already in my laptop, will there be a noticeable increase in performance or at least range?

Thank you :)

A USB one probably won't be better or worse.
The issue is the distance to your WiFi source, and what is in between.

For $15, give it a try, but don't expect miracles.

Also...you're only in tech school for a little while...:)
Concentrate on tech school.

hehe...in a few months, you may be coming to work for me, or someone I know.

the first one does look interesting

on some cheap wifi adapters some of those antennas are not connected to anything inside

i have a nano usb adapter, no antennas outside, works well but if i touch it with my hand for a long period of time, i lost connection

so if it is a lpatp and you need to keep it connected all the time, the size and shape do matter, the first one as i mentioned looks promising but where to put it? glued/ductaped to the back of the screen perhaps?

Well the laptop never leaves my desk atm, and my desk has a rear hutch type deal so I was going to put it up there. If I were to take my laptop traveling I'd just spew it about wherever I set up at haha. It wouldn't surprise me if I opened it up and it wasn't connected to anything, I've received some very questionable electronics from china before. It's mainly my fault though, I love buying the cheap stuff.
