Hello,

I have a computer here that only has 2 sata ports and one is busted so I only have use of HDD not ROM and windows has crashed. I tried a restore, last know config, and couldnt even get into safe mode so looks like I need to format or try and repair with windows disk. However dont have a drive or the OS media. Can i just download an OEM of win7 home prem of the web and use my legit CD-key and how can I take an iso and make it bootable by USB install/repair. Anywhere i can get the Media as well would help.

Thanks in advance,
Andrew

PS 8GB usb drive will be big enough correct

You only need a 4GB flash drive to do windows installations and there is no reason why you cannot use your current serial number. You do need to format the flash drive and download the Windows ISO file as well as a small program from MSFT that will transfer the file to a flash drive. Directions for all this and the file locations are here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1156654/seans-windows-7-install-optimization-guide-for-ssds-hdds (it also has some great suggestions for optimization).
