USB wireless Touchpad settings in Win10 (without drivers)

It's a bit of an old problem it seems. the Default Windows HID-compliant drivers set a wireless touchpad as a Mouse. And gives no settings to customise it's controls. As a result, I have the dread 'tapping' stuck as on. As this is a cheap-ish USB touchpad, it doesn't have it's own drivers so no specialised software to act as a third party between the driver and Windows.

Personally, I kinda can't see why it's NOT possible to have some method of either customising the abilities (at least in turning on and off the tapping) or someone having made some software that'll do the job.

Does anyone know of a method or piece of software?
