I have a Toshiba satellite c55t-b5230. I bought it to do some home recording, but the none of the usb ports will power the USB interface device. I read that it is set up to charge from the "sleep" mode. How do I get my USB ports to power devices as their being used?
thank you

A couple of questions. Will the USB ports support any device at all, such as a thumb drive?
What USB interface device are you referring to? It may simply draw more power than your USB ports can provide, assuming that the test above worked.
If you bought it recently, have you considered support from the place you bought it or Toshiba? If it's in-warranty, they owe you some work if things fail.

Indeed telling us what AI you're using is an essential point in order to provide an answer.
Nevertheless:

- Check your energysettings for USB-power
- Does the USB interface also have an AC/power adapter?
- Most installations of an external AI require you to FIRST install the driver and only THEN attach the AI.

Hope this helps.
