USB

Got a bit of a problem. When i put my USB stick into the drive, it does not work. It has a light to show when it has power and when it is half way in the light flashes, when pushed all the way in the light goes out.

I am guessing it is a problem with the connectors. Can this be fixed, and if so could i do this my self or will i have to go to a speacialist.

when you plug the drive in go to disk utility in start menu and see if you see it there

Yeah it comes up as a device, just cant access it.

try it in a different usb socket or without anything else plugged into usb, some systems have issues deliving power to all devices at once over usb and have the problem you describe

I have tried it in different ports on 2 different computers. When i push it into the port there is a point when the light on the stick comes on (hence it is recieving power at this point). However, if i push the usb any further in, the light will go off. This is also the point when the computer will recognise that somthing has been inseted into the port.
