Looking for input about PVR products, especially USB2 products. Any experience with "Kworld V-stream Xpert TV USB 2.0 Video Capture..."? Pinnacle PCTV Deluxe USB? Any recommendations or comparisons?

Thanks--much appreciated!

Hmm, I think that Pinnacle model probably has hardware compression, this is important to super smooth video.

As I research this further, I have come across reviews that say USB is not fast enough for full DVD quality capturing. This doesn't seem right with USB 2, but it didn't specify 1.1 vs. 2.0. Any input on this-- USB2 vs. PCI card use for capturing TV to PC for burning to DVD?

Thanks,

Tom

USB 2.0 is nearly half as fast as PCI. USB 1.1 was around 1/100th the speed of PCI. USB 2.0 should be fast enough, USB 1.1 isn't.

USB goes by megabits, PCI goes by megabytes...but if you care to convert either:

USB 2.0 is 480megabit/s, PCI is 1066megabit/s (1gigabit/s).

In Megabytes, that's:

USB 2.0 is 60MB/s, PCI is 133MB/s.
