Hey! I'm in need of assistance with this. I had to unplug my case's USB 3.0 cable from the motherboard, and because they're stupid tight, I pulled off the blue cover by a couple of millimeters (right on the edge of the pins).

As far as I could tell, there's no bent pins, but I'm afraid pushing too hard to put it back will bend a pin or worse, break the motherboard.

Any help?

All I can say is "gently" push on each side for a small amount, not too far, and rock each side down until it sits at the bottom. Don't push so hard it bruises your thumb. I can't really specify a certain threshold of force. It's something that you'll have to try on your own.

I believe he means the plastic guide around the header on the motherboard.

Yes, I mean the plastic around the pins in the motherboard socket.

The blue plastic is separated from the motherboard, it's barely being held there by the pins, but I still was unable to fully remove it or otherwise. Any suggestions?
