USB3 without a PCI-e slot

Hi, is there any way I can get USB3 without any available PCI or Pci-e slots on the mobo?

If your motherboard doesn't have USB3 ports or onboard USB3 header and there are no free PCI/PCIE slots, then no. It is not possible to get USB3 in such situation.

What's the motherboard model name btw?

Thanks for that. The mobo is an Asrock FM2A55M-DGS. I'm going to try and persuade the wife that she needs to buy me a new mobo and cpu for Christmas

Your board has PCI, PCIE x16 and PCIE x1 slots.
You can use any of those for USB 3.0 adapter card. Are they really all occupied?

I've just installed an Asus STRIX-RX560-4G graphics card which masks the free slots :-(

The only problem is that anything in the PCI slot will block the two cooling fans on the card.

There are low profile USB 3.0 adapter options also. That one will block almost nothing.
