Use a 5770 cooler on 7850?

Solution
That depends entirely on how much of a cooler it actually has. Does it have a heatsink at least? Because if it does, all you need to do is find the fan that is the right size and stick it on there in the right orientation. If not, you need to find one with dimensions that fit the mounting holes (or you could mod it, depends on how much effort you want to put in.) Then after you have a heatsink you can put on the fan. You also have to consider coverage of the GPU die, so if your 5770 heatsink checks all these boxes I don't see why not.
