[SOLVED] Use an iMac as second monitor for PC ?

I have an iMac pc those all in one types. it's quite old now since it was made it 2011 and i don't realy have much use for it.

so i wanted to use it as a second monitor. i connected it to my Windows PC with a displayport to mini display port cable but still cant find a way to get the Mac to act as a second monitor?

Have you by any chance got the cable plugged in to a DP port on the motherboard whilst there's a PCIe graphics card installed ?

No, the only graphics card this thing has is the one sodered onto the motherboard

Then perhaps it doesn't support multiple monitors, multiple ports may only be there to provide connectiivity options to a single monitor.

Can't proceed any further until you post full specs of your Windows PC so we know what we are dealing with and what it's capable of as regards number of monitors supported.

Have you tried connecting your iMac to your PC with no other monitor connected ?

(I know you want to use two monitors, this is just a test).

The mini displayport on the imac is output only, it will not accept an input. The imac has no video inputs.
