Hey there, I have a laptop that I attach to a USB hub and HDMI external monitor for work purposes.

What I'd really like to do is to be able to use a single external adaptor that I have (multi USB A and HDMI) that fits into the laptop's USB C port, so that all I have to do to shift to desk mode (instead of portable laptop mode) is plug in that single adaptor.

Anyone know if that is possible and if so, how? Unsurprisingly I get nothing by connecting the monitor to the adaptor right now.

Thanks

Providing details like laptop make / model, adapter(s) model / name would help someone pinpointing the issue you have.

For what I know, your USB C port must support Thunderbolt in order to use some USBC-HDMI adapters.
Hey there Alabalcho, appreciate your response. Wasn't even aware of Thunderbolt. Don't have it on my laptop (HP Pavilion 15-cs1). So I guess it's not possible?
