I have a GTX 760 in my PC. With the RX 480 coming out I thought to maybe upgrade. I dislike the notion of just throwing away the GTX 760. Is it possible to run them together (not SLI or Crossfire) and have the nvidia work on physX?
(I also work with video editing, 3d modeling, etc. Any advantages here as well?)

Thanks in advance

There used to be a way to enable "hybrid PhysX", but that option has been locked out for quite some time (years). Here's some info, some are able to get it going on more recent setups:

But the good news is that the GTX 1060 is also on the way to compete with the RX480 in that same price range. No need to jerry rig your setup to enjoy PhysX.

Not worth the hassle. The games that support hardware PhysX are few and far between and fewer still would support it in such a config. Also not worth the overhead in drivers and PCIE bandwith. Sell the 760.

I believe that you can't run a Hybrid setup like that with the latest PhysX version. It was possible with the older version on games like Borderlands 2.

You'd need to have 2 Nvidia cards to make this work, on the newer versions. (correct me if I'm wrong)
Just like Hlsgsz said, sell it. You might be able to grab a little extra towards your RX480 purchase.
