My dad just got a laptop with 2GB RAM running at 1333MHz. I have a spare 4GB module that I will gladly give him running at the same speeds. So at a minimum he will have 4GB if only my spare module will work. If possible I would like to use both, though, to give him a total of 6GB. Will this work, mismatching sizes of modules? And if so, should I favor the larger module to slot 1 or something along those lines?

Solution
If it has the same voltage, than u are OK and your dad can enjoy it : )

Memory specs:
DDR3 PC3-10600, DDR3 PC3-12800
Memory Type: DDR3 PC3-10600, DDR3 PC3-12800, DDR3 (non-ECC)
Maximum Memory: 8GB
Slots: 2
Each memory slot can hold DDR3 PC3-10600, DDR3 PC3-12800 with a max of 8GB Kit (4GBx2) per slot.*
*Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory.
