[SOLVED] Use desktop PC as a dock for laptop?

I'm looking for a way to essentially connect my work laptop to my desktop to be able to use the mouse/monitors/keyboard of the desktop running the laptops (both on win10). I've looked into kvm switches but that will require a lot of additional cables. I found out about symless synergy software but as I understand it lets me run both systems with one set of inputs. Would symless work for my use case? Are there any alternatives to just getting a docking station and a switch? Maybe running the laptop through rdp or something? Any help is appreciated!

I would suggest remoting into the laptop. remote desktop. if your on the same wired network the latency should be minimal and the laptop will open like a program.

short of that I suggest a KVM set. its one device with many cables but you only need to set it up once and connect the laptop when needed.

Thanks for the help, excuse the dumb question but is it possible to use RDP if I just connect both directly using an ethernet cable?

Using the monitors attached to the desktop, to display the laptop screen, no.

Set up RDP through wifi and its working surprisingly well even with multiple monitors, thanks.
