Use dual monitors

I have an s5710f HP desktop with an ATI Radeon 3000 graphics card. I want to be able to hook up two monitors to display multiple windows. I do not need it for gaming and need to know what do I need to do?

If you have multiple video outputs, just hook up another monitor. Use Windows display options to set what you want the monitor to do, mirror or extend.

Not really enough detail for a step by step. Would need the exact video card, exact monitors, available connectors/cables, and operating system.
