Use HDMI output as input

Hello,

I have a device (cable box) that sends video via HDMI. Unfortunately I do not have a HDMI TV or a HDMI monitor, so i would like to connect the Box to my computer (because my graphic card has HDMI) so that I can receive the data on my computer (and watch the video through a software maybe).

My knowledge in video is limited in that area, as I d'ont really know how HDMI works, so I'm asking youif something like that is possible

It won't work, the HDMI on your graphic card is an output. What you need is a video capture card.
