Does anyone know if it is possible to put an IDE hard drive into an SATA
removable drive rack using one of those IDE to SATA converter plugs? Is
there enough room in the rack to do this? Can it still work as a removable
drive? Are there any technical issues with trying to do this? Would this
be stable and reliable?

Thanks!

In the ones I have seen, no.

Should be possible. Whether _hot_-plugging works depends on OS and
SATA-Controller.

There is currently some discussion about the reliability of SATA
in general in this group. Some of the converters are problematic or
work only with some HDDs.
