Hello,

I was planning to connect my PC to my TV to use as a second monitor (to view things on it) and was wondering which port to use. Here is the situation, my GPU has 1 mini HDMI port, 3 Mini DisplayPorts and a DVI port that is in use by my monitor. I was looking at getting a Mini DisplayPort to hdmi adapter (I have many standard hdmi cables, high speed too), as I also have a Mac and it would be quite nice to kill two birds with one stone. Was wondering if to do that, get a mini hdmi to hdmi adapter, mini hdmi to HDMI cable or just display port to HDMI cable. Here is my preference list, but tell me which would offer the best performance (might use 4K DSR from Nvidia for TV).

1. Mini DP to HDMI Adapter
2. Mini HDMI to HDMI Adpater
3. Mini DP to HDMI Cable
4. Mini HDMI to HDMI cable

Thank you for your help,
Narzter

Solution
Mini HDMI to HDMI all the way. Displayport and HDMI adapters need to convert between the two because they use different signaling, but mini HDMI to HDMI is just rearranging the pins. Whether you use a miniHDMI to HDMI adapter or cable won't make a difference other than one of the two options might be cheaper than the other and convenience.
