use more then 4 screens?

looking to as the title states to use 4+ screens? is this possible with xfire/sli setups? (can you still use all 4 dp/dvi/hdmi/vga ports on all the cards in the sli/xfire setup?)

I can't speak for AMD based setups but I know most mid to high end Nvidia cards can do 4 monitors on a single card. 1 display port, 1 HDMI and 2 DVI. However Nvidia surround will only let you use 3 monitors for gaming.

thought as much for nvidia. had a lot of issues trying to use my setup ended up dropping from 4 screens to 3.

still having issues just thinking amd might be the future for now.

Is this setup for gaming? Are you trying to run all the monitors at a combined resolution? What GPU are you using?

i would be using a few screens for gaming, considered a combined setup and not my favorite idea....currently i have a single gpu setup having a hardware bug where i cant add more then 3 screens onto the card.......

i would love to run a few different things on different screens....

was thinking something like the gtx 760/780 for a muti gpu setup with 3 or 4 screens per card

for gaming - i have no idea
for work / office use - an Asus GT640-2GD3 will run 4 screens directly (DVI, DVI, HDMI, VGA)

i run 8 now, with capacity for 12 (but not enough wall space to avoid it looking like hell)

current = 1 from onboard (i5), 3 from each GT640 (i have 2), 1 from GT610
max = 2 from onboard, 4 from each GT640 (times 2), 2 from GT610

i think i could manage Solitaire on that. BF4 might vomit.
