Use of PSU Jumper

When using a jumper (such as the on that comes with an ek kit), do I just 'jump' the mobo cable or do I need to unplug everything else from the psu?

just make sure the cables aren't plugged into anything aside from the jumper

*Not sure about YOUR jumper but mine has to attach directly to my power supply because it won't attach to the end of the power cable

I guess I misunderstood.

I thought you were using a jumper to test that the PSU fan will spin when it's not hooked up to anything. For that you should never have anything else attached.

I don't know what you are talking about then.
