Im setting up a pc in my home office but want to also be able to use it in a room upstairs which is essentially a games room. It will mainly run downstairs on a triple monitor setup but want to be able to send the signal upstairs to a monitor, keyboard.& mouse. Whats the best way to go about this?

Im thinking of running a HDMI, 3.5 aux and USB cable through the wall (as we are decorating) and bringing it out in the room, unless anyone knows of any fancy devices out there??

Is there any that I could use like a KVM but rather than flicking between computers you flick between monitors?

Here's a good guide to max cable lengths: http://www.cablechick.com.au/blog/cable-length-guide/. If you're careful on the lengths and use usb boosters, you should be OK. The more difficult issue is controlling the PC. The only thing I can't think of right now is using a second cheap PC or laptop to remote into the main PC to control the display setting. Be sure to run an ethernet cable while you have the walls opened up.
