keyboard not working when connecting to usb to ps2 it is detected

Is the keyboard ps/2 or usb? if using a ps/2 to usb adapter, the adapter may be faulty, or the usb port is faulty
You trying to connect in front or back?
Have you tried seperate ports?
Does a USB mouse / other USB things work?
