I know that USB 3.0 uses different pins that the USB 2.0, and that I can use USB 2.0 into a USB 3.0 port, because it has both.
The problem is that my USB 2.0 port, which is next to the USB 3.0 into the same port is DEAD, I could use USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 devices into the same port, but now I just can use the USB 3.0 port alone.
I want to know if I can use the 5 pin USB 3.0, and use 4 of them to plug a USB 2.0, because there is no USB 3.0 mouse, please don't answer: the port can use both, 2.0 and 3.0.
Thanks

Hello hang-the-9 I know USB 3 is backwards compatible, but the phisical components uses 2 different pin set, USB 3 uses 5 pins and USB 2 uses 4 pins, if I connect a USB 2 into a USB 3 port It will work but it uses USB 2 ports, the 4 pin I was talking about.
So the problem is I cannot connect USB 2 into
USB 3, because the USB 2 decoder is burnt.

Still not very clear what the question is, what the internal connections and cables are does not matter, if you plug in a USB3 device into a USB2 port it will work, and if you plug a USB2 device into a USB3 port it should also work. If your USB2 ports are not working, just use the USB3 ports for your USB2 devices. If you need more ports you can either get a USB expansion card or a USB hub. Powered hub would be best.

Thanks for the answer, but I did it, I plugged my USB2 device into USB3 port and doesn't work, but a USB3 device works just fine. And yes the connections matter, a USB3 device has 9 pins if you didn't know 5 for the USB3 standar and the other 4(the common ones) for the USB2 standard.
I repeat my question, these 4 pin of my USB3 port doesn't work so I think the USB2 decoder is dead.
Please take look to the USB2 and 3 connections, the pinout of the USB3 is different, they aren't just different in speed, hardware too.
