Hello,
I'm running windows 7 64bit with 16GB HyperX Fury 1333Mhz memory. I recently added a 16GB kit (2X8GB) to give me a total of 32GB RAM however this ram is rated at 1600Mhz and also from Kingston HyperX. I read most forums that the 1600Mhz RAM would down clock itself to 1333Mhz. In system performance it shows up as 32GB (16GB useable) However, in BIOS Total memory shows up as 32768 (32GB). I tried to troubleshoot and tried a few methods online such as msconfig max memory settings with no luck. What am I missing?
MOBO is ASUS B85M-G
i7 4770K 3.4 Ghz
in BIOS TOTAL RAM shows up as 32768
DIMM_A1 8192MB 1333MHz
DIMM_A2 8192MB 1600Mhz
DIMM_B1 8292MB 1333Mhz
DIMM_B2 8192MB 1600Mhz
Are there any solutions to resolving this problem, or am I just stuck with some useless RAM? If not, I'll have to just sell the RAM at a loss or try to see if I can return it at the store I bought it at.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
