im going to buy used 3700x and he says pcie 4.0 doesnt detect but pcie 3.0 works just fine. Is that problem in the cpu or somewhere else?
If the CPU was installed in a B350/B450/X370 or X470 motherboard it will not "detect" PCIe 4 because it's not supported on those chipsets.im going to buy used 3700x and he says pcie 4.0 doesnt detect but pcie 3.0 works just fine. Is that problem in the cpu or somewhere else?
That can be caused by using a 300 or 400 series chipset, as only the 500 series officially supports pci-e 4.0.im going to buy used 3700x and he says pcie 4.0 doesnt detect but pcie 3.0 works just fine. Is that problem in the cpu or somewhere else?
he said he did that on b550 boardThat can be caused by using a 300 or 400 series chipset, as only the 500 series officially supports pci-e 4.0.
i would get it for 70 eurosCould be a setting in the bios. But it looks like on eBay they go for about 120ish in the USA. You might save a few dollars more and get the 5600 or the 5700x.
is it worth 70 if i buy b450 board and use pcie 3.0?If the CPU was installed in a B350/B450/X370 or X470 motherboard it will not "detect" PCIe 4 because it's not supported on those chipsets.
But if it was installed on a B550/X570 motherboard that's definitely a problem with the CPU if it doesn't detect a PCIe 4.0 device. If it was, I'd look for another processor.
No.is it worth 70 if i buy b450 board and use pcie 3.0?
