Used fan splitters for case fans, now I can't use the windows start menu or bar

I installed 2 new case fans on 2 Y-splitters by Rosewill. Everything turns on and powers up as always. However, now the windows bar on the bottom doesn't work. For instance, I can't click the window icon or press the windows key on the board to open the start menu. Click the Cortana search bar has it flash white then go back to the off-white dormant color. I also can't right click on the Firefox/chrome/whatever icons and have the smaller menu pop up.

Any ideas what is happening?

Does the problem go away when you unplug the fans? If so, the fans may be dragging the PS down...although I can't imagine why this would cause what you stated....but it's worth a shot.

Well, I unplugged one of the fans from the splitter after restarting and it works again. Plugged it back in, now it's all working. Not sure what the deal was, but I did do multiple restarts prior to posting this. Just didn't have time to open it up and plug it back in. Have an 850W Gold EVGA PSU, so not sure why two 140 mm fans would make that big of a difference.
