Firstly thanks for reading my post!

I have recently upgraded some of my hardware and am currently looking at replacing my aging RX 580. I mostly play strategy type games (Anno 1800/ Total War games etc.) and indie games (which aren't particular graphically challenging on my current system). I turn down the resolution at the moment to 1080p for Anno and TW.

I have a Ultrawide 1440p monitor (3440 x 1440). I tend to go for higher graphic settings then superhigh frame rates (though my monitor is 144Hz). I would like to play on high or ultra settings at 1440p/60FPS. I am also thinking of getting Baldurs Gate 3.

I am UK based and have the following options at or around the same price:
- RTX 2080Ti 11GB (Reference card)
- RTX 3070 TI 8GB (Palit GamingPro)
- RTX 4060Ti 8GB (Asus Dual OC Edition)
- RX 6750 XT (there are a few manufacturer options)

I have a 750W PSU and have recently upgraded to AM5 running a R5 7600X.

So any real difference between the cards, and any card manufacturers to avoid? I haven't followed PC hardware for a few years - so sorry if these are basic questions.

Looking at the really useful GPU Benchmarks Ranking seems to point towards the RX6750 XT?

Thanks again!

Hey there,

The 3070ti will give you most FPS:

If you want a card with DLSS 3 then the 4060ti is about 10% behind the 3070ti. All cards should be decent enough on the UW. Prob account for a 10-15% loss in FPS with 3440x1440 over the 2560x 1440. ON the other hand if you can service a further FPS loss and do take the 2080ti, then the vram will help somewhat.

I'd be going the 3070ti.

RX6750XT would be my options since it have 12GB and at 1440p, even with FSR, it's something that probably will help in next years.

But Ultra Settings, at leaast on very demanding AAA games, are not for any of these cards. SPECIALLY at 1440p. Don't expect that.

Thanks for your help.

I also see that Asus have lauched a cashback offer on new GPUs here.

That means for an extra £20 I could get a brand new 7700XT which seems a good deal?
The 7700xt isn't that much better than the last gen equivalent, 6700xt. Still a big boost over your RX.

Edit: And as it's only 20$, then for newer tech it's worth it.
