Used GTX 770 vs. New GTX 1050

Hey guys!
I was wondering if I could get some help on deciding on my graphics card for my first system.
Here is my planned build:

I was planning on going with a GTX 1050 2GB for around $100, but I have found a dude selling a GTX 770 for $80. I was wondering if the 770 would still be compatible, and if it would run better or worse for gaming purposes. I am only going to be playing at 1080p and I might pick up some more modern games like PlayerUnknown's Battleground or Battlefield 1 at Ultra or High, or lower for better frames. Let me know if I'm doing something wrong and if you have any other tips about getting into PC gaming.
Also: The guy I'm buying it from has 3 years left on the warranty and has only had it for 2 years. Never overclocked.

My recommendation is the 2nd Card Model (770 ASUS DC2). The GTX 770 is a bit faster (plus more VRAM) and if you can get it for $80 then it's a great bargain.

That EVGA will not handle the 770! I actually suggest getting a bigger and better PSU!

That EVGA will not handle the 770! I actually suggest getting a bigger and better PSU!

In that case, I think I'll stick with the 1050. The price increase to get a better PSU is more than what I'm saving if I get the 770 used, so there's not really a point. I'll keep my eye out for a used 1050 though.

I would take the money you save by getting the 770 and put that 20 dollars into a better psu.... that one kinda sucks anyway. 500b wont be a lot more and it will work just fine with the 770 which is notably faster than the 1050

It is an bottom of the barrel from EVGA.
Never skimp on the PSU it is the only component that can destroy the whole system.

Do you think a 500W PSU would suffice? Also, what brand/producer would you recommend. I've been looking at the Corsair ones for a while. Or what about this 600W. Or do I just want to avoid EVGA PSU's altogether?

I currently have a 770/4GB card and love it for what it does, medium/high on most games I play at 1440p on a 27", 60hz/75hz monitor. It's not the best but it is better than the 1050.

For the PSU: I would aim for 600W minimum, this way you're good for a couple years. I recently purchased a Corsair RM850i, more than I need, I know. It is modular and solid. I have had three Corsair PSUs over the last 13 years. None of them failed me. I just decided to upgrade from 550 to 850 to 850/modular.

asus dc2 cards will last literally forever - the 770 is on a par (slightly stronger ) than a 1050ti.
Far better choice - you do need a 500w psu though with a6+8 pin pci express power cable.
