Hello
I want buy gpu i have to choice between gtx 980 for arround 255 $ used with 1 year warranty or new gtx 1060 6 msi gaming x for 320 $. i know that in performance now these cards are same but in near future I think that gtx 1060 will be better because driver support. I will play in 1080p60hz I want card for 2 max 3 years, i didnt decided to radeon rx580 because i have i5 2500k not oc now. Can anybody give me advice ?

The 980 is stronger, cheaper and not that old.
That been said the 1060 6GB is really great new tech and it is perfect for 1080p.
The price is good too. You could find the nice dual-cooler ZOTAC AMP Edition for less than $270.
Even better the MSI GAMING GeForce GTX 1060 6GB is $250 after rebate.
The ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Dual-fan OC Edition $235 after rebate!
This is a great time to get a 1060 (imho).

Either of them will definitely be able to run most games @ 1080p/60FPS very well. I would honestly go for the 1060 because of its new architecture and it will have a longer warranty if you bought it new rather than the GTX 980's 1 year warranty that is left.

If they were the same price, I think that the GTX 1060 would be the better option. Otherwise the 980 is better.

You have to overclock the 1060 to actually match a 980. I'd definitely go for the 980 if you can save $70 on that. $70 can be a 256 GB SSD if we're talking upgrades.

What to consider is what model of the 980 you want to buy. The MSI Gaming X is a good card with silent cooling so a point for the 1060.
