Need help for future build (before december 2015)... budget is $450...1. Core i5 6600k + $140-160 mobo or 2. used i7 2700k + Brand New Z77 board? Will add a AIO cooling (not included in budget)...
I'm stucked between:
1. Sandy Bridge's 5Ghz and multithreading capability
vs
2. Skylake's optimization...

I own a Core i7 2600 (Non k) OC to 4.0 Ghz, but my rig is in the Philippines. Need to start a new build here in US for gaming (WOT, WOWS, Tera, and Other 2015 Title).

sorry for bad english
Thanks... I'll be waiting for a good suggestion. ^_^

Might I instead suggest a Core i7 4790K with a brand new Asus Z97-A motherboard. It has the best of both worlds, 4 Ghz default, unlocked for overclocking, AND hyper-threading for 8 virtual cores. It also hits your 450 dollar budget on the spot. If, for some reason, that is not an option, I would go for the 6600K, due to optimization, lower power consumption, and that most games don't use more than 4 cores. But otherwise, the 4790K is probably the best option.

Thanks for the reply zjuventus14... Maybe I'll just buy a cheap parts (Second hand CPU and Mobo) before jumping to major upgrade next year... Cannonlake might be a better option. a used i5 and mobo costing $150.00-200.00 from a friend. ^_^

Just make sure to test them before paying him. Never a good feeling to blow 200 dollars on defective parts.

yeah... He is still using the Mobo and CPU, And I'll be the one who will install the new parts if he upgrade... At the moment, I'm using my Aunt's i3 550 (although this PC is being used for work sometimes)...

The cpu is way worse than both of those, but can handle those games really good, and other newer games ok. It has a dedicated gpu, which is really good for gaming. This particular one isn't that good, but can play newer games at low settings.
Ik this didn't answer your question, but it is a good 450 pc, and a good build for 400. You can probably put the i7 in the mobo, but im not sure. The Skylake cpu won't work.
He also has a great build for $500 that im looking at gettings, and you can downgrade the gpu and up the cpu if you want.

Thanks for the input mate, I don't plan to buy a new mid end pc since I'm still using a a mid end PC from older generation (an i3 550 from dell). What I'm planning to build this coming december is a higer tier desktop. 2 core would be out of my option if I plan to buy a new PC.
