Hi there! First new build in a while, been slowly working thru various start-up issues. One final hurdle I can't seem to overcome: it won't detect any SATA drives.
Primary drive is a Samsung 960 Pro NVME M.2, with clean new Win10 install. Boots/runs fine. But bios doesn't see ANY of the SATA drives: Samsung Evo 840 SSD 128GB SSD, (2) Maxtor 1GB HDD and a DVD/CD-RW. Shows all six SATA as empty. According to mobo manual SATA 1 is apparently disabled when M.2 is active so skipped that one, have them slotted in 2-4. The bios shows Sata 1 as enabled.
Rest of system is:
Intel i7-7700
Asus Maximus IX Code Z270 mobo
G.Skills Trident ram (16Gb @ 3600)
Asus Strix GTX 1080 TI
Any suggestions/probable causes?
Update: despite multiple checks, turned out to be not-quite-seated power connector. Stupid user.
