I initially moved all my user folders to my HDD when I first built this computer a couple months ago, but without selecting any specific destination other than the d drive. So all the folders (downloads, Pictures, Music) were named just "D:/" but retained the symbol. I thought ah Ill fix it later.
I noticed though that that they all seemed linked, namely the downloads and pictures folders for some reason. So I finally sat down to correct this mess by restoring all the files to there default destinations then properly moving them over to the D:/ drive. Music and Videos went fine, but Downloads and Pictures are still totally linked!! whatever's in one is in the other, and if I restore one to its default destination the other one disappears from everywhere except the quick access menu!! If the name changes on one it changes the other. AHHH.
How can I just reset these or delete them or create new ones without doing a system restore?

> open file manager / explorer (or whatever your current os thinks its called)
> click on Libraries (the name)
> select your picture library with a right click
> properties
> library location .... this should only really show 1 location
>> check the download library with same method above

remove the link found in either (i cant tell which because its your library)

you could also try the 'send' option to send the folder to a location of your choosing, but its basically the same as moving. have you tried just 'copying' the innards of a folder to a self created folder on d drive? name it d:\pix , and copy all your pics from picture folder to it.

I have been trying to move them that way and it works fine for Music and Videos but whenever I change anything location wise on Downloads or Pictures it changes for the other. I create a new Picture folder on the D drive then do the steps you mentioned to move the User Pictures folder to that destination, and it works, but then when I go to do it to the Downloads it has already shifted the Downloads folder Location to the same as the Picture folder...
