Hey!

I just built my new PC with a ROG STRIX 1080 TI and I ran a userbenchmark test and it came back saying Below Expectations. Any ideas why?

Thanks!

Solution
Remember, there will be overclocked results in there. And the people that can afford to buy a GTX1080Ti and are aware of userbenchmark are going to be people that are aware of overclocking.

Give overclocking a go and see if you can improve your results, if you care to. Otherwise, how is the gaming experience?

You are running at stock speeds and most of the other entries are overclocked. Look closer at the score. You benched at 153% but the average bench was 154%. So you are very close to average, it is just that everyone else is overclocking.

Download MSI afterburner or Evga Precision X and increase the Power Limit to 120%, and add 100 to the core clock and 300 to the memory clock and run the bench. Your score will change.

Nice rig btw. Enjoy!

Yours is right on dead center average.

As I've written elsewhere, userbenchmark is a seriously faulty readout.

Consider this:
(completely disregarding any OC)

Let's assume absolute best out of the factory lab is 100%.
All the devices tested come in at 90-95%
All really great, correct?

Some device that tests at 91% is really, really good, right? Just a few percent off absolute factory best.
In the userbenchmark.com world, that would be: "Performing below expectations (20th percentile)"
"OMG!!! My GPU is broken! How can I fix this?"

Yes, it is in the "bottom fifth" of those devices tested. But still, really, really good.

If you saw it as "91%"...you'd not have any question.
