Hey, so i wanted to move my users folders to my HDD off my SSD and i went through the process of going to my users page and right-clicking the folder (i.e. mymusic) and changing the location to my E drive (my HDD) however, when i go to my user folder it still shows my user folders with the content in there, but in the properties it shows them as being in the E:/ drive. i dont want the folders to show me what is in my E:/ drive, i want them gone. is there a way to completely move the folders to the hdd and completely get rid of the folders from my ssd? I tried deleting the folder content that show on my ssd but it deletes it from the hdd too so i guess they are linked.

Solution
1. You do NOT want to move the whole profile, or the whole C:/Users/ That can and will cause issues later on.

2. What you want to do is move where the Library files are stored. Music/Doc/Video/Pictures.
Either the tutorials I linked above, or parts of what you found at sevenforums.com

Also, remember that what you see in File Explorer may be just a visual representation/shortcut, and not where the files actually live.
You can use something like WinDirStat to see where the files actually live.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/18629-user-folders-change-default-location.html

i used this tutorial, however, when i got to my user folder it still shows the folder that i changed to my hdd.

example: i go to "Andrew" (my user name) and the folders in there are my music, my documents etc.
when i click on one, i can see what is inside still but when i enter the properties, it shows it as being on my new drive. what i want is to not have my user folders still being shown in my C drive. it appears that it is showing me what is saved in the E drive and any changes i make in C will translate to E. is that possible...is that what moving user "profile" is?

Its hard to say what is going on because your informaiton is difficult to follow.

There are several possible ways to accomplish this:
1) In registry change where the system stores your user profile folders.
2) In the libraries, change where it searches for pictures, music, documents, etc
3) Just drag/drop contents of folder to other drive and manually go to directory

From what you are saying you did number 2, but may have not moved the actual files. You need to tell the library the new location to look, then drag/drop the files to that new location, you can then remove the old location from the library. The folder will still exsist but there should not be anything in the directory.

Now option 2 and 3 will still result in a 1-4GB being in the user profile folde due to the AppData folder. Moving the contents of this folder (in registry) to a magnetic drive would result in slower bootups and program loads.
