Thanks, I figured that. I'm building a computer for my dad and he really wants triple channel memory (although I told him the benefit seems to be negligible)...I couldn't find any 1155 mobos that support triple channel.

what is your dad doing? If it is just gaming, then there is isn't enough benefit in switching to triple channel memory over dual channel memory. While I'd always go with the most channels possible, it isn't worth the cost of switching to a 1366 socket.

Whats he doing? Surfing the net mostly. He is relatively adept @ Photoshop, but does not use it on a daily basis, so he is not likely to reap any substantial benefit from triple channel. He used to be a major computer enthusiast back in the Commodore thru 486 days and simply enjoys having a badass computer...crazy, maybe.

If your dad is doing mostly photoshop and multitasking things then a LGA 1366 hexa-core build might be the way to go. I would wait until LGA 2011 comes out though, especially if you want a seriously badass computer...with quad-channel memory.
