Using 144hz for laptop GL502VML capped at 60hz

Im using Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter to display. It does display but the only problem is it is capped at 60hz. All drivers are up to date and I've checked on Display Adapter and NVDIA Control Panel but still can't select 144hz.

Please let me know if I am doing it wrong or is it possible to change the hertz to 144hz using laptop.

Normal DP to DVI adapters are single-link only. >60 Hz requires dual-link, which means you'll need a specialized adapter. Try open the Nvidia Control Panel, set the resolution down to the lowest, take the hz up to 144 and the resolution back on to maks or whatever, worked for me
