Hey guys,
When I'm working at home I usually have the following set up
HD7450 (Has 1 Hdmi, DVI, VGA) : HDMI -> AV Receiver -> Samsung TV; DVI -> Samsung 24" Monitor
Where I work on the monitor and watch a tv show on the tv. Recently I found I needed more working space so I grabbed a spare 22" LG Monitor, but it only has DVI/VGA, and the VGA looks rubbish.
I don't have any display port adapters or anything, but I had a spare second HD7450, so I put that in, and tried to run the following
(1): HDMI -> AV Receiver -> TV
(2): HDMI -> Samsung, DVI -> LG
However only 1 graphics card at a time will work, when I try and boot with both it hangs and eventually freezes during "starting windows", but I can boot in safe mode (only 1 gfx card displays) and I can disable and see both of them in device manager.
If I disable one and boot normally, then re-enable, I lose all 3 displays.
I was under the assumption that because they both use the same drivers it would be possible to do this?
I've tried numerous combinations of different cords, swapping each display to different inputs, tried detecting displays in both CCC and in windows, and i'm just not sure what to do!
I am intending to buy a couple better gfx cards with display port, but until then it would be nice to see if I could get this working...
My setup is:
Gigabyte GA-970A-D3
2x4gb DDR3 ram
AMD core 6 fx-6100 3.3Ghz
WD 1TB caviar green
2 x ATI HD7450s
