Hi there, so im building a simple office PC for a friend. I saw 2400mhz RAM was cheaper and the clock speed wasn't too important in this build so i went with it. The motherboard (MSI b450M PRO-M2) says on the page that it supports 2666mhz through to 4133.

Will the RAM still run at 2400mhz or will the PC out right not work I have never experienced a slower than stated speed on RAM so i want to make sure it works for him.

MEMORY
  • 2 x DDR4 memory slots, support up to 64GB *ComboPI 1.0.0.3-based and above BIOS are required.
    • Supports DDR4 1866/ 2133/ 2400/ 2667 MHz by JEDEC, and 2667/ 2800/ 2933/ 3000/ 3066/ 3200/ 3466 MHz by A-XMP OC mode
  • Dual channel memory architecture
  • Supports ECC UDIMM memory (non-ECC mode)
  • Support non-ECC UDIMM memory
From their support site's detailed specs tab, here.

You're good to go! To note, the ram's will work in DDR4-2133MHz, you will either need to enable X.M.P or manually set the voltage, frequency and timings(per the sticker on the stick of ram) in BIOS. Also, make sure you're on the latest BIOS update.
