Hello Guys,

Long time lurker reaching out for a problem that I can't seem to solve on my own.

PC Specs
Processor: i7-6700k
Ram: 16 gig
1 TB HDD
256 gig SSD

I seem to be using around 8 gigs of ram idle on windows 10. The memory is just "missing," the amount used by processes comes no where near 16 gigs.

I've used both RamMap and Task manager to try and track down the problem. I don't know enough about swap files to provide anything of value in that area, but the file seems to be pretty large. I can provide screen shots or the direct file from RamMap, I just do not know the best way.

I have also run both MalwareBytes scan and AVG Anti-virus scan both show up clean and all of my updates have been applied by windows.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Regards,
Or1gin

I dug through the page file and found that KillerNetworkManager had a huge memory leak, for some reason the version that was installed with my mobo had huge flaws.

For anyone with Killer Network Manager download the latest version...
Probably a memory leak from a bad driver

Download Process explorer and run it as admin (it comes from Microsoft so its safe)

the default view is tree structure meaning like your task manager screen, it will show what processes are under local host, but unlike the other one, it shows the ram usage of each part so you can see what is eating your ram

Private bytes = actual ram usage
Working set = Ram + page file usage

This page shows what all the colours and headings mean, link at bottom of it shows how to use it to find problems. You can right click services/processes and run an av scan from within the program.

I saw that you recommended that to another person who posted here. So I have already downloaded it and have been looking around? What I am looking for that would indicate a memory leak?

Also, what drivers would i need to upgrade? Motherboard?

Thank you!

Sort it by the private bytes column and see if anything unusual is using ram.

Are you sure its ram and not memory, as they aren't same thing exactly. ram is included in memory but so is page file. Easy way to tell is sort by working set instead.

What motherboard do you have?
The cause could also be a peripheral driver like if you have an Occulus I know that one of their drivers was faulty recently.

can you show a screen shot of your task manager/performance/memory tab as I curious what it shows

For anyone with Killer Network Manager download the latest version on their website and uninstall the version you have.
